Family Home Ed

We run a Family Home Education group on Tuesday mornings from 9.30-11.30 for children aged 1-13, to attend with their parents. During the session we will introduce a few activities but encourage parents to follow their children's interests.

These sessions use the whole 3 acre site and often mean that while the leaders will move around to spend some time with different groups, we encourage the parents to follow and engage with their children's play during the session.

We book in half termly blocks, following Devon school term dates. This ensures the group has time to bond and get to know the forest, alongside Forest School Principles. IF you are interested in a ‘taster’ session, please see our Forest Families sessions one Saturday a month which can be booked as stand-alone sessions.

If your children would enjoy any of the following, book your place!

  • Fire-lighting

  • Bug Hunting

  • Den Building

  • Assault courses

  • Nature arts and crafts

  • Communal cooking

  • Tree climbing

  • Rope swings

  • Splitting logs

  • And many, many more!

All Day Home Ed

Also on Tuesdays, from 9.30-3pm, we have a group where children aged 7-13 can explore the forest with a group of peers for a full day of Forest School learning. This group gives children a huge sense of autonomy around their learning as well as developing socially and personally.

If you are interested in this day we ask that you first book in for a half term of the Family Home Ed group (above) so your child can get to know the setting, us and the other children. This group is primarily aimed at children who have attended the family group (or our other regular sessions) and are looking now for further development and challenges.
