Music and Outdoor Education

Our aim is to deliver high quality music and outdoor education experiences for children from 5 to 16 years old and CPD opportunities for teaching staff. We want to encourage children and adults to explore the natural world around them and experience the sounds of British and world cultures.

Bespoke packages for every school or setting

We offer bespoke packages with individual sessions lasting for between an hour and an hour and a half. We also offer whole day sessions to give a range of classes different experiences such as singing, storytelling, spiritual activities, bush-craft, music and other creative art forms. We aremore than happy to include and be incorporated into any schools topics or theme days.

Customisable for any site - No Transport Costs

We special in 'pop-up' outdoor education which allows us to bring 'Forest School' style activities to almost any site across Mid Devon and Taunton areas. We believe children learn best in environments they are comfortable in, as well as reducing the cost and hassle or transport for school. Our sessions take place on your site so the children don't lose valuable learning time in transit and can instead head straight back to theirother lessons.

Linked to the National Curriculum

Our practice is tailor made for each school and through consultations we can create packages which cover specific areas of the National Curriculum, allowing schools to ensure their children have the best coverage of areas.

Additional 'Arts Award' opportunities

Lewis Ames is a trained advisor through Trinity College London and is able to deliver a complete program for children to achieve

'Explore' and 'Discover' Arts Award certificates. We can also adapt our sessions to facilitate team-building, outdoor teaching and musical training for members of staff.

Curriculum Invoices to show coverage

We believe that outdoor education should be treated as an integral part of the national curriculum as oppose to an added extra. To help schools, we provide a 'Curriculum Invoice' for each session. The 'Curriculum Invoice' outlines the areas which we aim to cover during the session, and itemises each objective for you to use as part of your school's record keeping.

This example shows the areas covered in an overnight sleep-out held for years 3 and 4 on their school site.

Setting up outdoor initiatives

As outdoor education leaders we can also provide advice andconsultations in school which can help schools achieve“Food for Life” awards by offering experiences to children such as knife skills and implementing food culture practices into school life. Food culture is now high on Ofsted's agenda and we are able to help schools feel proud and secure about the provisions they

offer to their students.

Use as PPA or supply cover

Our courses can be delivered with class teachers or without,  allowing flexibility where schools would like to cover PPA,  supply teaching or regular cover. Our instructors all haveenhanced CRB checks and many years of combined teaching experience.
