This course is designed to qualify you to become a Forest School Leader, able to set up and run a Forest School programme for participants of any age.
The Course Covers:
Practical skills including: fire lighting, shelter building, tool use, flora and fauna identification, foraging and nature crafts such as whittling, carving and natural pigments
How to facilitate groups in a learner-centred way, including plenty of ideas for games and activities
The Forest School ethos to behaviour, the holistic approach to learning and thinking about human needs

The benefits of Nature Connection and how to support this with others
Risk assessment and management
How to manage a Forest School site sustainably, including Woodland Management and promoting biodiversity
The legal responsibilities of running a Forest School and good practice
It is designed to meet the needs of school and college staff, teachers and teaching assistants, youth workers, adults and professionals.
By the end of the course, you will be ready to set up and lead your own sessions, with a good understanding of the Forest School principles as well as woodland management, tool use, fire lighting, risk management and much more.
