Our Level 3 Forest School Leader training differs from many you may find on the market. Our course is special for the following reasons:
You will have two tutors teaching you throughout, Lewis & Wem, Directors of Children of the Forest who have experience in setting up a Forest School, running a Forest School Kindergarten, delivering on school sites and hosting The Forest School Podcast.
We run only one cohort of max 15 students per year, giving you all of our focus for the duration of the course.
We deliver 10 days of face-to-face training in our beautiful mixed woodland.
Our site is a running Forest School; you are surrounded by play structures and resources to inspire you.
We augment our training with deep dives on topics we believe are crucial to facilitating excellent Forest School, including play, neurodiversity and holistic human needs.
We keep in contact with you throughout the course, through monthly online meetings to help you with coursework, in addition to email and contact using the Discord app, to support you every step of the way.
The coursework is broken up into sections with deadlines throughout the year, marked by your tutor as you submit. This ensures accountability for you, as well as regular feedback so you know you are on track.
We offer a variety of ways to submit your coursework, to suit your learning style, including discussion and videos.
Whenever possible we visit our students at their site, to observe you running a session, followed by a constructive feedback session in which we can also give consultation on the set up of your Forest School site.
